AIRBRUSH
We went airboating in Florida and came home wanting to make a racing game. Somewhere along the way we realised the best bit wasn't going fast. It was the accidental beauty of what you left behind.
An airboat has no brakes. You steer by throwing the back end around, committing early and hoping you've judged it right.
In AIRBRUSH, the wash from your fan becomes the brush.
Skim across a bed of lily pads and you'll carve colour through them as you go. No cursor. No paintbrush. No undo button.
You don't really draw the picture.
You drive it.
Then the fuel runs out. The engine cuts. The camera pulls back.
And you finally get to see what you made.
Every day, everyone gets the same swamp and the same prompt.
Same swamp. Different strokes.
DRIVE. DON'T DRAW.
Throttle. Rudder. No brakes.
Every turn leaves a mark, so the finished picture is basically a record of every good decision, bad decision and accidental powerslide you made along the way.
Need to reposition? Hold SHIFT to lift the rudder and move without painting.
PAINT OR LEAVES
There are two ways to leave your mark.
PAINT starts you in a swamp packed with lilies. Your airboat clears them away, revealing colour underneath.
LEAVES flips the whole thing around. Start with open water and throw lily pads down behind you instead, using a palette of eight colours.
Same boat. Completely different problem.
90 SECONDS. ONE PICTURE.
A run lasts until the fuel tank is empty, usually about ninety seconds.
Then that's it. No touch-ups. No second pass.
You get a square PNG of whatever happened out there, ready to keep or share.
There'll be more.
We'll tell you when this one goes live, and when the next one lands.
